Rochdale Library Service - Online Renewals Help Screen
If you want to keep items on loan for longer than the due date you will need to ask us to renew the loan. You can renew most loans. Audio items that are renewed may incur an additional rental charge.
How can I renew my loans?
You may find the following points useful when renewing on the Web Catalogue…
- This screen shows the items you have on loan. The due date is in the column on the right-hand side.
- There are tick boxes on the left-hand side against each of your loans. If you want to renew all these loans tick the box in the red band. All the boxes will now be ticked. If you only want to renew particular loans tick the box against those titles.
- Once you have selected the loans for renewal click on the "Renew" button.
- If the loans have renewed successfully the due date will have changed. If not, you will get a message saying that "One or more loans have not been renewed" and messages against the appropriate titles letting you know what has happened.
- Once you have finished you can click on the "Log out" button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Some loans will not renew
- Items on loan from the Best Sellers Collection cannot be renewed. They will need to be brought back to the library. You may be able to borrow them again immediately, depending on demand.
- There is a limit on the number of times you can renew a loan: three times online, ten times in total (in person, by telephone and/or online). Once you have reached that limit you will need to bring the items back to the library for checking. You may be able to borrow them again immediately, depending on demand.
- If somebody else has reserved an item it cannot be renewed.
- If a reference book has been issued to you it cannot be renewed.
